After 2005, the story of Liu Xiang winning the championship at Athens Olympic Games was once again selected into the textbook.

This junior high school edition (Grade 8) "Chinese History" textbook was edited by Wang Side and published by East China Normal University Press. In the experimental textbook Volume II, Lesson 20 "Culture, Art and Sports", there is a picture of Liu Xiang winning the championship at the Athens Olympic Games. In the picture, Liu Xiang is striding over the hurdle with all his might, while behind him are the Latvian famous athlete Olīgas and the French athlete Ducré.
