Lin Haowei revealed in his blog that a singer fancied a female actor, and hoped to accomplish the deal through an intermediary. The intermediary asked Lin for help, then Lin became aware of the "prostitution purchasing" dealings in the entertainment circle. Lin Haowei said that some brokerage companies were actually engaging in black market transactions, "some intermediaries even run brokerage companies, signing contracts with graduates from these art academies under the pretense of recruiting actors and singers...the main business of the company is actually pimping."
