The first N-series touch phone, Nokia S60 5.0 with a new touch interface, was first featured on the 5800 XpressMusic, a device designed for the general consumer market with the mission to expand into new markets. Following this, the renowned N-series of Nokia could not be left out. In December 2008, Nokia held the "Nokia World" conference in Barcelona, Spain, where it officially announced the N97. The N97 is not only the new flagship of the N series but also the first touch-enabled phone in the N series. Similar to the 5800XM, the N97 features a high-resolution 640 x 360 touch widescreen. However, compared to the 3.2-inch screen of the 5800XM, the 3.5-inch screen of the N97 is clearly larger. Moreover, under the standby screen, it displays content such as contacts, social media updates, or multimedia, offering a more professional feel compared to the 5800XM.
