First of all, I would like to tell you that polymer clay (soft pottery) is not a real kind of clay on Earth. It first appeared in Germany in 1930. It is synthesized from the chemical raw material PVC (polyvinyl chloride), with some plasticizers and color pigments added. Polymer clay comes in many colors, including fluorescent colors, material textures, and translucent ones. After shaping and finishing, this clay is baked at a low temperature in a conventional oven, and after completion, it can achieve the desired shape and layers as designed. During the entire baking process, it does not shrink and retains its original color. The finished product can be laid, sanded, drilled, and painted. Through proper storage, polymer clay can be preserved for a very long time, usually over two years. It can be stored even longer using refrigeration.
