The F703i is capable of meeting the IPX7 waterproof standard, functioning normally even after being submerged in water at a depth of one meter for half an hour. Apart from extreme conditions such as hot springs or seawater where guarantees cannot be made, whether it's in a bathtub or swimming pool, making calls directly while immersed in water poses no problem at all. To achieve this waterproof capability, both the earphones and the charging/data interface have been tightly sealed. The MicroSD card expansion slot has also been sealed inside the battery compartment.

However, the performance of the F703i is not bad either, utilizing Japan's FOMA system. Within its slim body that measures only 17.9mm thick, it features a 2.2-inch (240x320) QVGA LCD screen, while the external screen is merely a 7-segment LED display capable of showing four alphanumeric characters. It sports a 1.3-megapixel CMOS main camera and has the ability to play MP3 and WMA music. It supports storage expansion via microSD cards. The device dimensions are 100x48x17.9mm with a weight of approximately 109g. Maximum standby time is 420 hours, and continuous talk time is 145 minutes.
