Sony SR1E is Sony's first high-definition digital camcorder to use a hard disk as a storage medium. It adopts the AVCHD HD standard and is equipped with a built-in 30GB hard drive, which can store approximately 4 hours of video (AVCHD XP quality, bit rate reaching 15M). This should be more than enough for the average user, but some people don't "settle for reality and pursue progress" — they want to disassemble the SR1E and replace it with a higher capacity hard drive.
