Google China Year: Has Your PR Skyrocketed? - SEO Tribe Teaches You How to Quickly Boost Your Website's PR
Written by Longer
Google has been around for a decade, and this year marks the "Google China Year." Accompanying the start and end of Google's updates, domestic websites are undergoing tremendous changes, with PageRank (PR) values being the most noticeable. Many sites have seen an increase in their PR values, but there are also numerous websites that haven't experienced a significant boost in two consecutive "gift-giving" rounds. SEO Tribe is here to help resolve these various questions.
This October, Google celebrated its tenth anniversary. Looking back at the past decade, Google has grown from a small garage to a studio, and now into a globally recognized brand with tens of thousands of employees. Google continuously enriches itself, maintaining its leading and dominant position in the online domain. For ten years, Google has primarily provided convenient access for English-language websites. However, this year, coinciding with the Beijing 2008 Olympics, Google has extended its updates to our country. For Chinese webmasters, this is undoubtedly a great opportunity to leverage this moment and enhance the long-desired PR value.
Many large websites received attention during the last update on July 26th. Those who find it interesting can refer to my previous article titled "Google’s Olympic Gift – PR Soaring Chinese Websites." In fact, these two PR updates were not entirely about recognition or scoring in PR terms; they also included Olympic elements. Since this year is the "Google China Year," as long as you haven't engaged in cheating, your internal links are reasonable, and your website is properly indexed, your site will receive a PR value. It's just a matter of more or less.
How can you make your website stand out among the many websites during the Google China Year? Below, I’ve compiled some experiential responses based on what the technicians at SEO Tribe have shared, hoping it will be helpful to everyone.
1. Proper Indexation
Your website must be normally indexed by Google. Only websites indexed by Google can obtain PR values. If Google's spider merely crawls through your pages without proper indexing, it won’t significantly impact your PR value.
2. Reasonable Directory Structure
A good directory structure helps make website creation more convenient and makes your website hierarchy clearer.
3. High-Quality Internal Links
Internal links are often overlooked. Many ordinary SEO practitioners believe that obtaining good external links is enough to determine a high score for a website. However, this isn't entirely true. Spiders prefer being able to traverse the entire site through one link entry point and return to the starting point.
4. Sitemap
It’s essential to create a specialized .xml sitemap specifically for Google and submit it through Google Webmaster Tools. It's worth mentioning that the weight distribution in the sitemap.xml also determines the approximate scores of your site's secondary pages.
