April 25th, Beijing Time, foreign media reported that Tokyo entrepreneur Takahito Iguchi has developed a wearable computer device named Telepathy One. It features an inbuilt camera, a micro projection screen, and a stylish design. This device appears to be a cheaper version of Google Glass.Iguchi and his team demonstrated two prototypes at a press conference held in New York. Similar to Google Glass, the screen of this device is precisely aligned with the wearer's right eye. Its headphone provides audio while securing the device onto your head. It is very light, but adjusting this device is laborious; it took me considerable effort to align its screen with my eyes. After fiddling for a minute, I had to manually hold it in place.Iguchi stated that the main function of this device is to let you wear a trendy device while sharing videos and intimate moments in real-time. Unfortunately, the two prototype devices showcased at the launch event did not support video recording or audio functions, but I was still able to test the existing applications. The first prototype showcased Telepathy's first application, MangaCamera, a very popular image application in Japan that has garnered over 6 million downloads. This application converts images into anime and then displays them on Telepathy's virtual display via Bluetooth. The second prototype showcased the feature of displaying text messages on the screen. So far, there are no other applications for this device, but the company will meet with multiple developers in the coming weeks to discuss other ways to utilize the device.Iguchi said that Telepathy is still in its infancy after all, as the company only unveiled this prototype in January this year. Currently, there is little information about the price of this device and streaming services (the specific method to toggle streaming services has not been finalized yet), but Iguchi claimed that they are prepared to complete the final steps by the end of the year and launch the product. He added that regardless of the final price, it will be lower than Google Glass.
