Google confirmed 2 hours ago that it will acquire YouTube in a stock swap deal valued at $1.65 billion (reports indicate Yahoo! was also interested in acquiring YouTube but couldn't outbid Google). Google plans to retain the YouTube brand and its current operational model, and all 65 employees of YouTube will remain in their original positions.

Rumor: GooTube has finally become a reality. The next concern is: What will happen to Google Video? Will YouTube also be "banned"?
