Google developers created Apps-for-Android on Google Code, an open source project licensed under Apache 2.0, aiming to share sample applications for the Android platform. WikiNotes supports searching by title and content, and has view mode and edit mode. In view mode, users can switch to other entries, or to the dialer, browser. Menu entries and shortcuts allow users to conveniently switch from view mode to edit mode.
The purpose of WikiNotes for Android is to demonstrate a large number of concepts in Android, providing a template for future mobile office software. Google's goal in launching Android is to clone the relatively efficient and simple experience users have when accessing applications on a PC onto a mobile phone, surpassing Windows Mobile.
