Here are the characteristics of websites that have been hit by Google’s negative sixth penalty:

1. The penalized websites are all old sites with a long history.

2. These websites’ keyword rankings had been consistently in the first position for a long time; some had been stably ranked in the top six positions but were then demoted to a fixed sixth position.

3. The keywords affected by the penalty are usually the most important ones.
