You may have visited Google.com or Google.cn, but have you ever visited Google.org? Currently, Google's charitable arm, Google.org, is investing in two companies researching relevant renewable energy technologies. One of these companies is eSolar, a company based in California, USA, specializing in solar thermal power station technology that can replace traditional fuel power stations. The other company is Makani Power from Silicon Valley, California, which specializes in developing technologies that utilize wind energy as a power source.

Google stated that they will invest in the development of these renewable energy technologies and hire relevant engineers and energy experts to be responsible for research and development work. By 2008, the company plans to invest tens of millions to billions of dollars in research and development as well as related investments.
