Oh, no Gphone, just Android

G o o g l e announced Monday that it has formed the Open Handset Alliance with 33 mobile phone manufacturers, wireless carriers and other technology companies. Meanwhile, Google said that the company will develop a new mobile phone technology named Android with its partners, which will be able to accelerate the development of mobile innovative functions. Google did not release any mobile phones based on its technology nor show what these mobile phones would look like. In fact, Google indicated that mobile phones based on Android technology platform may not be available in the market until the second half of 2008.
