Google Earth Adds Hiking Route Maps -- Outdoor Resources Daily Post

Not long ago, I saw someone made a 24000 km coastal route book from Dandong to Fangchenggang on Google Earth. It's absolutely awesome.

US Trimble Outdoor and Google cooperate to add GPS positioned hiking route maps (landmarks) on Google Earth. In addition to coordinates, they also provide introductions and photos of the scenery along the way.

This is good news for people who like outdoor sports. I don't know if there are any individuals or organizations in China doing this. In fact, I think it won't be particularly complicated. If you know how to make landmarks and are familiar with GPS, anyone can make similar route maps and put them online for everyone to download.
