Google Greater China's online sales and operations manager, Zhou Wenbiao, told NetEase Technology today that this year Google AdSense will cooperate with domestic banks in China to directly transfer advertising fee splits to website operators through Chinese banks.

NetEase Technology reported on April 21st that Google Greater China's online sales and operations manager, Zhou Wenbiao, informed NetEase Technology today that Google AdSense would be fully localized within the country this year.

Zhou Wenbiao stated that this year Google AdSense would collaborate with domestic banks in China, directly transferring payments to website operators via Chinese banks to provide larger, more convenient, and safer payment methods domestically. Previously, Google AdSense used U.S. dollar checks to settle advertising fees for website operators, but domestic website operators generally found this method inconvenient and not well-localized.

Google AdSense has brought income to many websites in the country while also facing some criticism from website operators regarding its handling of cheating websites. In response to NetEase Technology, Zhou Wenbiao stated that Google would not easily block a website; if we were to investigate a website, it would only be because we had sufficient evidence and employed various technical means. Google has developed a new system to prevent the possibility of ads being maliciously clicked. He also advised website operators to protect their sites from being maliciously "framed" by others, reporting any suspicious behavior to Google promptly.

Last year, Google established a dedicated domestic localization team for AdSense. The team provided 24-hour service support to website operators and improved the matching technology for Chinese advertisement keywords, thereby increasing the click-through rate of website ads. According to Zhou Wenbiao, in 2006, the click-through rate of ads displayed on operator websites increased by 50%, meaning that even without an increase in traffic, revenue would double. He indicated that these improvements were due to Google actively contacting over 800 website operators last year, optimizing each site according to its specific characteristics to unlock its potential.

Google AdSense is part of Google's online advertising business and is the primary source of advertising revenue for many small and medium-sized websites in the country. By joining Google AdSense, websites become content publishers of Google, displaying Google keyword advertisements on their own sites. Google pays commissions based on the number of times the displayed ads are clicked. When the accumulated commission reaches $100 at the end of any given month, Google pays the advertising commission to users.
