Similar to standalone features like Google Docs, Picasa, and Google Calendar, Google has just released a separate contacts function that can be used independently of Gmail. The purpose of the contacts function is to allow users to share contacts across different services. Users can import and export contacts from Outlook, Outlook Express, Yahoo, or Hotmail. For Apple Address Book, users can use an application called "A to G" to export their address book.
