Nine Cities announces obtaining the operating rights for "Wrath of the Lich King" in mainland China.

At 18:00 Beijing time on April 14th, it was announced that the Ninth City (Nasdaq:NCTY) had reached an agreement with Blizzard Entertainment of the United States to renew the operation rights of "World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King" in mainland China.

Blizzard Entertainment announced at BlizzCon2007 that it plans to release a second expansion pack for its award-winning multiplayer online role-playing game, World of Warcraft. World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will open up the harsh and severe continent of Northrend to the bravest adventurers, with new ability levels, challenging new dungeons and encounters, exciting new character professional skills, and the game's first hero type... All these features await the exploration and discovery of players.

"Many famous characters from the Warcraft world will be added to World of Warcraft in this expansion pack," said Mike Morhaime, President and Founder of Blizzard. "In addition to new story content, World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King will also introduce features that players have strongly requested over the past two years. We look forward to sharing more details with each player as development progresses."

World of Warcraft is an important source of business income for the Ninth City. When the Q4 financial report was released last year, Zhu Jun, Chairman of the Board and CEO of the Ninth City, said: "We are very pleased with the record net revenue and significant profit growth achieved by the company in the fourth quarter of 2007. Our solid financial results are mainly due to the increase in the number of World of Warcraft players."
