Game Introduction:
The war strategy single-player game based on the theme of the Three Kingdoms, "Three Kingdoms Great Battles," officially meets the domestic audience. This is the second work by Purple Crystal Digital, continuing the company's consistent cute art style. The interface is specially designed with an attribute dial function, making the serious Three Kingdoms game also have an interesting control method, allowing players to easily pit their wits and strength during the summer vacation!
◆ SJS Selection Evaluation System for Easy Mastery
Purple Crystal Digital stated that the game introduces the "SJS Selection Evaluation System," similar to the familiar "Rock-Paper-Scissors." Originally, the more complex functions of internal politics, personnel, diplomacy, and warfare in Three Kingdoms games become easier to handle due to the design of this system; for example, when two armies clash on the battlefield, if the opponent sends out cavalry, our side only needs to send out spearmen to gain the upper hand; but if the opponent sends out archers, then our spearmen will be at a disadvantage.
Additionally, in diplomatic battles involving verbal sparring, if the opponent sends a straightforward "Wood" attribute envoy, then our side sending out a sharp "Metal" attribute envoy to engage them will greatly increase the chances of victory.
In the game, players not only have to face challenges from famous heroes such as Cao Cao, Sun Quan, Liu Bei, Dong Zhuo, Yuan Shao, and Yuan Shu during the Three Kingdoms period, but must also confront threats from powerful surrounding ethnic groups, including Wokou (Japanese pirates), Wuhuan, Xiongnu, Qiang, Shanyue, and Barbarians. These ethnic groups don't just occasionally harass the borders; they will organize large-scale invasions into Central Plains in the middle and later stages of the game, annexing other remaining weak forces, and even launch surprise attacks on player territories, rising as great powers to challenge the players in the final stage. Therefore, players must never let down their guard after occupying half of the country.
Besides having capable generals with different abilities, these ethnic groups also have unique troop types, such as Wokou spear light infantry, Shanyue poison arrow soldiers, Xiongnu iron cavalry, and Barbarian vine armor soldiers, presenting more challenges to players in the process of unifying the world.
◆ Single Combat, Field Battles, Siege Wars - All Included
In "Three Kingdoms Great Battles," if players want to expand their territory or resist invasion, they must rely on war. In each war, six generals can be dispatched. Both sides will start with field battles, up to thirty formations. Each formation can only assign one general to fight. Victory or defeat depends not only on the counter-effectiveness of troop types and the general's command ability, but also on luck (determined by the attribute dial which decides the attack power of that formation) and the strategies chosen by the player.
When the main general encounters the enemy's main general on the battlefield, the game enters a single combat scene. Single combat also incorporates the concept of the "SJS Selection Evaluation System," where players can choose three attack methods: slash, lure, or feint. If the correct counterattack method is selected, not only can the enemy be injured, but morale can also be increased. When morale is full, the general can use their unique ultimate skill, causing heavy damage to the enemy general!
If the attacking side wins in the field battle, they can choose to initiate a siege war. Each city has two gates. Both sides assign one general per formation, and each chooses one of the gates as the target for the main force. If both choose the same gate, the attacking side will face fierce counterattacks from the defenders; conversely, the attacking side can cause significant damage to the gate. If the gate is destroyed, it is equivalent to capturing the city. After the defending side retreats, the attacking side can pursue them, seize supplies, and cause significant casualties.
On the battlefield, generals can directly kill enemies, but wise generals are not to be underestimated either. Each wise general has a specialized strategy. When inspiration is fully accumulated, they can activate strategies such as breaking dams, mutual killing, fire attacks, and traps, causing significant losses to the enemy army.
◆ Soldiers Divided into Cavalry, Spear, and Archery Classes
Each general has a troop limit depending on their rank, which gradually increases with experience. If the rank is too low, even if the ability is good, they cannot command large armies, so high-rank generals should be cherished.
At the beginning, generals can only recruit the weakest miscellaneous troops, but once equipped with warhorses, long spears, and crossbows, soldiers can transform into cavalry, spearmen, and archers respectively. These three classes of troops form a countering relationship. As soldiers accumulate experience through combat, they can upgrade to advanced troop types. For example, spearmen can upgrade to forward soldiers with enhanced attack power, imperial guards with stronger resistance to strategies, and thunderbreakers with greater destructive power during sieges.
The game provides seven historical scenarios for players to choose from: "Collapse of the Han Dynasty," "Dong Zhuo's Ambition," "Conquering the Warlords," "Battle of Guandu," "Red Cliffs Rise," "Liu Bei's Ascension," and "Tripartite Standoff." Additionally, there is a fictional scenario called "Fantasy Great Battle," where all forces from the historical scenarios appear together.
In each scenario, not only are familiar hero characters present, but many female warriors also display their charm, such as Huang Yueying, Zhen Luo, Diaochan, Sun Shangxiang, Cai Yan, and Xin Xianying.
In the game, players can also do business with merchants from various places such as the Western Regions, Xiongnu, the capital, Wokou, and Goryeo, buying low and selling high to make big profits. Moreover, sending people to search for treasures among the populace is also a kind of fun. Treasures not only enhance the abilities of generals but also increase their loyalty. Special products and cities' designs in four attributes—agriculture, industry, commerce, and military—expand the differences between cities, increasing the pleasure of each conquest.
