【Basic Introduction】
The "Legend of Heroes" series has been highly praised by players since its debut. This time, the final work of the Kakabu series, "Legend of Heroes IV ~ Scarlet Tears," will present itself with a new look to the players and continue Falcom's status in the Action RPG kingdom. The continent of Er·Fielding is bound by the myth of the gods' disputes, and the faith-based conflict between the two major deities seems to have no end. One day, while Albin and Aimé were praying in the Grand Cathedral, the evil religious army that worships Octome suddenly invaded. To prevent the divine treasure of Baludos from being stolen, under the arrangement of the sage Gavi and the priestess Olesia, the two siblings embarked on a journey of separation and escape. Eight years later, Albin grew up under the careful care of Remulas. Before his death, Remulas also told him the clue about Aimé's whereabouts. Thus, Albin set off on a journey to find his family with his friend Mai.
The battle system of the game is based on the traditional combat method of the Kakabu series and has been improved. Attack commands are divided into normal attacks, special moves, magic attacks, and spirit summons, and each attack command has an additional "AT" attribute, which stands for Action Time. The game characters need to charge up before executing the player's commands. This "AT" attribute appears as a red (standby) or yellow (magic) bar next to the character during the battle. For example, characters skilled in physical attacks have a shorter "AT" when using normal attacks; characters skilled in magic attacks have a shorter "AT" when using magic attacks. Players need to make good use of the "AT" attribute to understand the strengths and weaknesses of each character, fully leverage the characteristics of the characters, and take control of the battle.
The game uses a high-color mode of 60,000 colors. Whether it's characters, scenes, battles, or magic, the production team has redesigned them and made a lot of innovations and improvements. Players can see smooth and beautiful game graphics in the new version of "Scarlet Tears," such as the subtle changes of NPCs walking on the streets, the spectacular scenes of attacks and magic usage during battles, and the exquisite layouts of various scenes, all of which fully demonstrate the traditional characteristics of the Legend of Heroes series. Moreover, some new dynamic effects have been added in the new version, such as colorful natural phenomena like snow, rain, and fog. Overall, the performance effect surpasses that of "White Witch" and "Sea's Cage Song."
"Legend of Heroes IV" is the third classic game produced by Japan's Falcom that New World released this year after "Double Star Story" and "Seven Stars Magic User" received positive reviews. As a pure and traditional role-playing game, it is flawless in both plot and system. The final masterpiece of the Kakabu series will present itself with a new look to the players, allowing players to continue the unfinished hero's legend.
Orphan Alvin lived a simple and happy life with his sister Aimée in the holy land of Cardadora ever since he lost his parents.
