Emperor Taiwu of Northern Wei dispatched General Liu Chengyi to personally recruit elite soldiers in preparation for an attack on the Rouran. Following his orders, General Liu recruited Hua Mulan's father. However, due to her father's old age and her young brother's inexperience, Hua Mulan stepped forward to take her father's place in the army, following General Liu Chengyi on the campaign against the Rouran. In the game, the entire process from her taking her father's place in the army, establishing military merit, to returning triumphantly is fully presented. The overall style is humorous, funny, light-hearted, pleasant, and entertaining, making it an action role-playing game (ARPG). It features a completely new battle system. The game uniquely allows the main character to create bombs with explosive techniques. Raw materials for crafting are diverse; some can be purchased at item shops at reasonable prices, though using these materials can only synthesize attribute-less bombs. To synthesize bombs with attributes, players need to find various spiritual talismans to alter the bomb attributes. These attribute-enhancing talismans might be found along mountain paths or possibly carried by NPCs. Since attribute talismans are limited, players must carefully plan their combat strategies and synthesize bombs to eliminate enemies. Additionally, if the player has a good relationship with an NPC, they may also purchase attribute talismans at item shops.
In the game, players do not gain experience points after defeating monsters but instead obtain items or money left behind by defeated NPCs. To enhance their attributes, players must rely on higher-level equipment and martial arts. In the game, good equipment can only be obtained through branch storylines. As for other combat skills, aside from some essential ones, many require players to discover them within the game, whether through helping others and receiving rewards or encountering reclusive masters who teach them extraordinary bomb-attack techniques. This game primarily focuses on bomb attacks with skills playing a secondary role, aiming to provide players with a different gaming experience compared to typical ARPGs. Bombs in the game have different attributes and characteristics, including no attribute, wind attribute, fire attribute, thunder attribute, and spirit attribute, allowing players to use them according to different enemy types. Moreover, different protagonists in the game use different weapons, enriching the gameplay.
The bombs in the game are completed through a weapon crafting system. Players can learn various crafting skills through the game's storyline and then craft weapons that suit their playstyle based on their preferences. The game adopts multiple storylines and multiple endings, with the plot intricately linked. Different playstyles can develop the game in different directions and lead to different endings. Each difference in the storyline will affect the development of the next storyline, thus increasing the game's replay value. The game includes plots such as Hua Mulan's righteous adventures in Dan Lin Ling Fu, her enlistment in the Yinshan military camp in place of her father, uncovering enemy spies in the Commander-in-Chief's residence, chasing enemy ruffians at Heishui Ferry, being appointed as General Wuzhao in the military camp, ingeniously capturing the kingdom of Yueban, Lan Mige'er subduing great generals in the desert, subduing the various tribes under the control of the Rouran, battling the Xianbei kingdom, and seeking divine medicine at Baicao Ridge.
