Xiangqi Wizard is an extremely powerful software for editing chess notations and playing against the computer, highly praised by Xiangqi software enthusiasts.
【Software Features】
Xiangqi Wizard has the following three most distinctive features:
(1) Flash Chessboard, which can be pasted on forums that support HTML, making it convenient for users to display their own chess notations.
(2) Automatically generates ECCO (Chinese Chess Opening Encyclopedia) codes. There are 500 ECCO codes in total, of which over 250 have been assigned. Any opening (regardless of its rationality) can find a corresponding ECCO code, allowing users to query the name of the opening and variations, which helps classify notations according to opening information.
(3) Provides an interface for playing engines, enabling human-computer matches and position analysis. This is the main function of Xiangqi Wizard, and the bundled engine ElephantEye (Xiang Yan) is also at a very high level. Currently, there are more than ten UCCI engines that can use Xiangqi Wizard as a platform for battles.
Of course, Xiangqi Wizard also incorporates features from other chess notation editing software (especially WinBoard and Xiangqi Studio), possessing most of the functions of general chess notation editing software, including:
(1) Single Document Interface (SDI) (WinBoard's approach), making the interface compact and easy to operate. Multiple instances of Xiangqi Wizard can be launched when necessary;
(2) Notation files (PGN) and position files (FEN) both refer to international chess standard formats, which are the easiest to promote;
(3) Can browse Xiangqi Studio notations (*.XQF), Yi Tian notations (*.MXQ), QQ Xiangqi notations (*.CHE), and various other resources;
(4) Input and delete moves;
(5) Add game information and comments to notation files;
(6) Edit positions;
(7) Open a new Xiangqi Wizard window for position analysis and deduction;
(8) Generate static text chessboards that can be posted on BBS (a feature of XQStudio);
(9) Generate image chessboards that can be posted on web pages or printed materials (also a feature of XQStudio);
(10) Quick keyboard input (another feature of XQStudio, but Xiangqi Wizard’s notation input method is easier to master);
