【Basic Introduction】
Xiangqi Wizard is a powerful software for editing Xiangqi (Chinese chess) game records and playing against the computer, highly praised by Xiangqi software enthusiasts.
【Software Features】
The Xiangqi Wizard has the following three most distinctive features:
(1) Flash chessboard that can be pasted on forums that support HTML, making it convenient for users to showcase their game records.
(2) Automatically generates ECCO (Encyclopedia of Chinese Chess Openings) codes. There are 500 ECCO codes in total, with over 250 already assigned. Any opening (whether reasonable or not) can find the corresponding ECCO code, allowing users to query the name of the opening and its variations, which helps classify game records based on opening information.
(3) Provides an engine interface for human-computer games and position analysis. This is the main function of the Xiangqi Wizard, and the bundled engine ElephantEye (Xiang Yan) also has a high level of play. Currently, there are more than ten UCCI engines that can use the Xiangqi Wizard as a platform for battles.
Of course, the Xiangqi Wizard also incorporates features from other game record editing software (especially WinBoard and Xiangqi Studio), possessing most of the functions of general game record editing software, including:
(1) Single Document Interface (SDI) (the approach used by WinBoard), making the interface compact and operations convenient. Multiple instances of the Xiangqi Wizard program can be launched when necessary.
(2) Game record files (PGN) and position files (FEN) both refer to international chess standard formats, which are the easiest to promote.
(3) Can browse various resources such as Xiangqi Studio game records (*.XQF), Yitian game records (*.MXQ), QQ Xiangqi game records (*.CHE), etc.
(4) Inputting and deleting moves;
(5) Adding match information and comments to game record files;
(6) Editing positions;
(7) Opening a new Xiangqi Wizard window for position analysis and simulation;
(8) Generating static text chessboards that can be posted on BBS (a feature of XQStudio);
(9) Generating picture chessboards that can be posted on web pages or printed materials (also a feature of XQStudio);
(10) Quick keyboard input (also a feature of XQStudio, but the game record input method of the Xiangqi Wizard is easier to master);
(11) Available in both simplified and traditional Chinese versions, which can recognize each other's game records;
(12) Automatic playback of games;
(13) Changing and customizing the interface's chessboard, pieces, sounds, background music, etc., giving users sensory enjoyment;
(14) Various handicap settings to let users experience more Xiangqi fun.
