After the low point of 2008, 2009 was indeed a year of new changes. I carefully counted that there were as many as 20 major game or anime works to be announced for adaptation into movies! However, some did not start filming until 2009, so they are not included in this list... Let's take a look at the must-see anime and game adapted films of 2009. There are a total of 10, so get your money and glasses ready, and head to the cinema anytime!
NO.10 "Warcraft" Movie Edition
At the recently held Blizzard Entertainment Festival, Blizzard CEO Paul Sams and Blizzard Vice President of Creative Development Chris Metzen discussed the upcoming "Warcraft" movie with Legendary Pictures CEO Thomas Tull. Sams first introduced that Blizzard had been brewing this movie plan for 5 years, but Hollywood has always been uninterested in fantasy-themed movies. With the release of "The Lord of the Rings" series in recent years, it proved that this genre has quite strong box office appeal. Thus, Sams and Metzen contacted Legendary Pictures again, this time aiming to create an epic film that will leave a deep impression on everyone. The movie is expected to be released in 2009.
NO.9 "Transformers 2"
According to American media reports, the plot of "Transformers 2" continues from the previous one. Although "Megatron" was defeated and thrown into the deep sea, he did not truly die. He was revived by the "Energy Core." Megatron summoned a new helper, Devastator, while the Autobots' lineup includes Soundwave and the female Transformer Arcee. There will be around 10 old and new Transformers from both sides who will face off one by one.
Review: Carrying the momentum of the 2008 Transformers movie, the return of Transformers 2 seems even more fierce. In terms of creating suspense, Megatron's resurrection is one, but the most impactful is this battered Optimus Prime. As the leader of the Autobots, what kind of battle did he go through to end up like this? This answer can only be found on the big screen.
Release Date: June 2009
NO.8 "Astro Boy" Movie Edition
The news that Tezuka Osamu's masterpiece "Astro Boy" will be turned into a CG movie has already been announced. The animation art studio responsible for making this movie is Imagi Animation Studio from Hong Kong, China. This studio is currently working on the movie version of "Science Ninja Team Gatchaman," and the full CG version of "Astro Boy" will be released in 2009.
Review: Astro Boy is the dream of many people's childhoods, and I'm sure many still remember singing the theme song. After many years, Astro Boy reappears in 3D form. Initially, there were concerns about whether Astro Boy would deform after being turned into 3D, but now it seems there’s no need to worry about that. This image will surely match the Astro Boy in many people's hearts back then... The only curiosity is how the voice acting will turn out?
Release Date: October 2009
