Samsung Smartphones Account for 30% Market Share in Q1

According to the statistics of TrendForce, in the first quarter of 2013, global smartphone shipments steadily increased, reaching a total of 216.4 million units, an increase of 9.4% compared to the previous quarter. Since the beginning of 2012, smartphone shipments have steadily grown on a quarterly basis.The data shows that Samsung's smartphone shipments ranked first in the first quarter, thanks to its vertically integrated supply chain, global marketing, sales, and various channel advantages. In the first quarter, Samsung shipped 65 million smartphones, accounting for 30% of the global market.As for Apple, the iPhone 5 has failed to meet consumers' desire for innovation, resulting in unsatisfactory shipment figures. In the first quarter of 2013, Apple's shipments were only 37.5 million units, with a market share of 17.3%, down 1.2% from the previous quarter. Currently, details about Apple's future new products have not been announced, while Samsung, HTC, Sony, and other global companies all plan to launch new products in the second quarter, which may lead to a continued decline in Apple's smartphone shipments.The statistics also show that in China's smartphone market, Samsung continues to lead. In the first quarter, Samsung shipped 11.7 million smartphones, capturing approximately 17% of the Chinese smartphone market.
