As the release of Nokia's Windows Phone 8 phones draws near, anticipation for the next generation of Lumia devices continues to grow. Just a few days ago, a media outlet exposed what was claimed to be a WP prototype called the Lumia X. Its resemblance in design to the Nokia 5700, with its bulky "brick" shape, drove many users who prefer thin designs absolutely crazy. However, before Nokia officially releases their new phone, we would rather believe that it wasn't real. This is because recently, a domestic Weibo user has exposed another WP8 prototype that looks completely different.
Compared to the Lumia X with its rotating camera, this new phone feels more like part of the Lumia family—still maintaining the same shell without any changes. Judging from the leaked photos, this anonymous phone appears to be running on the WP8 system (although it could also possibly be the similar-looking WP7.8).
Interestingly, while the two phones shown in the leaked photos have some differences, both adopt a yellow color scheme. Previously, Nokia’s early shipments of Lumia devices were predominantly lake blue and black, with white and rose red appearing occasionally, but the yellow version was rarely seen.
Regarding the release date of Nokia's WP8 phone, the latest rumor points to September 12th. Meanwhile, Nokia employees themselves have voluntarily joined promotional efforts, helping operators clear out existing stock of WP7.X phones at discounted prices.
