March 10, in the afternoon, an insider confirmed that the location of Apple's first directly operated store in China has been changed from Beijing Qianmen Street to Beijing Sanlitun. The specific address is not yet clear, but it is expected to open before the Olympics. The second directly operated store will be built on Qianmen Street.

Today, a message from the Apple enthusiasts website Apple4.us said that due to the long renovation period of the originally planned first Apple directly operated store site on Qianmen Street, in order to open the first store before the Olympics, Apple has activated a candidate plan - the Sanlitun area of Beijing as the address for the first directly operated store, with an area of 1000 square meters. Subsequently, a second directly operated store will be opened on Qianmen Street with an area of 3000 square meters.

An insider from Apple China confirmed this news to Sina Technology: "The area is not as large as the rumored 1000 square meters, and it is expected to open before the Olympics." Regarding the specific location in Sanlitun, this insider did not disclose it. Apple China's official side made no comment on this news.

Currently, Apple already has specialty stores in some major cities in China, but these are established by channel partners (dealers) and do not belong to Apple. Apple officially stated that directly operated stores can not only showcase Apple's entire product line for consumers to experience, but also sell these products directly.
