Exploring Back-Illuminated Sensors

While the high pixelation of digital cameras is constantly developing, another major trend in consumer-grade digital cameras, back-illuminated sensors, are gaining increasing attention. Compared with previous CMOS sensors, Sony's developed CMOS sensor - Exmor R can make more effective use of obliquely incident light and produce images with fewer noise. As a result, it has been adopted by many manufacturers in their consumer-grade digital cameras and won the "Photographers' Club Award" in "Camera Grand Prix 2010".
