Amazon has delayed delivery of its slim Kindle

According to reports, due to heavy orders, Amazon has pushed back the shipping date of its third-generation slim Kindle to September 17.

Amazon had previously offered pre-orders for the slim Kindle on its website, but because demand exceeded Amazon's expectations, orders were so large that Amazon had to push back the Kindle's shipping date from September 4 to September 17.

This time, the affected Kindle includes WiFi and WiFi+3G.

Amazon last month unveiled the third-generation slim Kindle, which includes a number of improvements and WiFi support. The 3G+WiFi version of the Kindle costs $189 and the WiFi version costs $139.
