American Microvision actively studies on small-sized laser projectors. At the 2007 International CES held at the beginning of this year, it displayed to the outside world a developed MEMS (Micro Electro Mechanical Systems) module which uses a vertically intersecting 2-axis high-speed drive reflector. At the "FPD International 2007" held on April 16, American Microvision once again introduced the small-sized laser projector module "PicoP". It is the second-generation laser module; compared with the first generation whose dimensions are length 40mm×width 20mm×thickness 8mm, the thickness of the second-generation laser module has been reduced to 7mm and can perform WVGA (800×480 pixel) display, making it very suitable for use in mobile phones. Recently, the famous mobile phone manufacturer Motorola of South Korea publicly announced that it will launch the first commercial mobile phone product applying Microvision's laser projector module.
