At some point last year, bank employees who were selling credit cards swarmed into the school in batches to promote their products to teachers. After that, there was a long period of peace and quiet, and I thought that the banking system had begun to address the problem of excessive issuance of credit cards. However, I didn't expect that starting this week, the campaign to sell credit cards has resumed again, with three waves of bank employees arriving in just four days. In addition to large and small gift packages, some banks are also offering tempting gifts such as trips to Hong Kong.
It seems strange why applying for a credit card not only costs nothing but also comes with gifts, while salespeople earn bonuses. Surely credit card companies don’t lose money on this? Or why does getting a new mobile number cost nothing and even come with a free phone?
