Wordpress is a Blog program that allows you to set up a blog that is entirely your own. However, the application of Wordpress nowadays goes beyond just the Blog aspect. Due to its powerful expandability, some websites have even started using Wordpress for their setup, or in other words, these blogs appear so sophisticated that you can't even tell they are just blogs.
