The differences in the specific forms of Chinese and Western natural-style gardens were not formed by chance. As can be seen from the previous analysis, although Chinese classical gardens and British natural landscape gardens share many similarities in overall aesthetic principles, there are such fundamental differences in their specific garden forms. Ultimately, these distinctions are due to the different political and economic systems and characteristics of productive force development between China and Britain. It can be said that before modern times, the differences between Chinese and Western gardens were mainly influenced by religion and philosophical thought, whereas in modern times, they have been primarily shaped by political and economic systems as well as modes of production. The natural landscape style of Chinese classical garden art, which matured during the Song Dynasty and continued for nearly a thousand years until the Qing Dynasty, developed naturally within a stable and closed system. Due to the isolationist policies of feudal dynasties, Chinese artistic development was never impacted or enriched by foreign cultures and arts.
