Boston Dynamics has demonstrated its quadruped robot WildCat. WildCat is the outdoor version of Cheetah, a quadruped robot that was unveiled last year. WildCat has no tether, can jump and gallop, but it is very noisy. The robot can move in complex terrain. Test on flat ground showed that it could reach a top speed of 25 km/h while Cheetah could run as fast as 45 km/h on a treadmill. The research of WildCat has been funded by DARPA.
