Danish design master Verner Panton designed this eponymous Panton Chair in 1960. Due to the immaturity of technology at the time, it took eight years from its design completion to mass production. In 1967, with the collaboration of the German furniture company Vitra, he successfully experimented with the chair, making the Panton Chair the world's first single-piece molded plastic injection-formed chair. As a result, the Panton Chair became a globally renowned representative of design furniture. Its cantilevered base structure provides comfort during sitting and an overall visual aesthetic. The material used is reinforced glass fiber polyester, and the casting process is extremely intricate, making it an absolutely collectible piece of design excellence.
