According to our news report, at around 18:30 on December 7th, in a villager's home in Xiazai, Xiakin Village, Zhania Town, Longyou County, a man drenched in gasoline broke in and attempted to set himself on fire. He also held Hong a certain hostage and entered a room on the second floor.

Firefighters arrived at the scene where a strong smell of gasoline had already spread, and there were large amounts of bloodstains on the ground.

The agitated man, surnamed Shu, was holding another middle-aged man hostage and continuously stabbed his own right arm with a knife.

The on-site command post sent experienced police officers to negotiate with Shu while studying and formulating a rescue plan.

Shu started smoking, and if the cigarette fell on his body, it might cause a fire. The suspect and the hostage were constantly in danger.

The personnel handling the situation tried their best to calm Shu's emotions, but the overly emotional Shu threatened to ignite the gasoline and commit suicide.

Due to Shu's agitation, the on-site command post selected a police officer who knew the criminal suspect Shu to join the negotiation work.

After the police officer entered the room, the command post immediately arranged for police forces to wait outside the room. Meanwhile, the handling personnel prepared high-pressure water guns and stood ready. They proposed letting the hostage leave first, replacing the hostage with themselves. Taking advantage of Shu's hesitation, they let Hong a certain escape from the room.

Seeing the hostage leave, Shu became abnormally agitated, threatening to set himself on fire and placing a dagger against his neck preparing to commit suicide.

In a critical moment, the negotiating police officer fearlessly rushed towards Shu. Officers waiting outside the door for a long time also rushed into the room and together subdued Shu.

Upon investigation, it was found that Shu, aged 32, is from Wuyi Mountain, Fujian Province. In 2006, he married Hong a certain from Zhania Town and had a son. Due to discord in their relationship, they divorced in 2008.

This year, Hong returned to Longyou to work from out of town, and Shu wanted to reconcile with Hong but was rejected by Hong.

On the evening of December 7th, after drinking, Shu carried gasoline and a dagger and broke into his ex-wife Hong's father's home, holding Hong's father hostage with a knife.

After medical examination, the rescued hostage Hong a certain is currently normal in all aspects and has not been injured. Relevant on-site investigations and aftermath work are being carried out in an orderly manner, and the case is still under further investigation.
