The shocking image of people descending a hundred meters underground to fetch water has captured the hearts of many readers. It is a microcosm of Yunnan's once-in-a-century drought that has persisted for three consecutive years, and also reflects the lives of many simple farmers who rely on the weather for their livelihood. Upon the release of this report, the headquarters of Lotus Cars in Hangzhou immediately responded. Following their previous collaboration with the Yunnan Youth Development Foundation (referred to as the Youth Foundation) to aid Xiangyun County’s Qinghai Lake, they took action again. The "Little Prince" model was dispatched to contribute to Yunnan's drought relief efforts, demonstrating the social responsibility of an enterprise.

Lotus Cars promptly sent its Yunnan dealer, Yunnan Bi Hai Yuan Company, to conduct an on-site investigation into the feasibility of drought relief measures. Two colleagues from Yunnan Bi Hai Yuan descended alongside villagers through a mountain cave with a slope exceeding 70 degrees, accessible only by one person at a time, reaching the side of an underground river. After a brief measurement, it was found to be over ten meters deep. Moreover, the underground river could continuously supply water, meeting the requirements for corresponding water extraction and drinking water projects.

Donation of a Lotus Sedan to Resolve Water Extraction Difficulties

Under the coordination of our newspaper, after detailed discussions with local villagers and budgeting for the feasibility and cost of water extraction, it was determined that the initial phase of the project to bring water to the surface would require an 11.5 kilowatt pump, a generator of more than 22 kilowatts, high-strength water tanks and pipes resistant to bursting, along with fuel, with a budget of approximately 100,000 yuan. Upon receiving this information, the company decided to donate a Lotus L3 coupe as the first installment for the water extraction and drought relief efforts. With the agreement of Lotus Cars headquarters, our newspaper joined hands with the Youth Foundation, the Publicity Department of Qujing Municipal Committee, the Communist Youth League Committee of Qujing Municipality, and the Publicity Department of Fumin County Committee to hold a bottom-priced charity auction on March 10th at the Zhujiang Source Square in Qujing City. The reserve price was set at 50,000 yuan, with the highest bidder by 15:30 obtaining the vehicle. All proceeds will be handed over to the Youth Foundation for the village's drought relief drinking water project, with the Youth Foundation issuing tax-free donation invoices. Any surplus funds will also be used for drought relief in other parts of Qujing. The Youth Foundation simultaneously accepts targeted donations for "Qujing Drought Relief." For this purpose, they have specially established a 24-hour donation consultation hotline: 13700691177.

Yunnan Bi Hai Yuan, a Local Dealer and Philanthropic Enterprise, Takes Further Action

As a local Lotus Cars dealer, Yunnan Bi Hai Yuan is also a philanthropically-minded enterprise. They have previously organized car club events to collaborate with the Youth Foundation, donating 110,000 yuan worth of goods to Baiyan Village in Dali and nearly ten thousand yuan for water delivery and donations in Bailu Township. With strong support from the manufacturer, they have decided to further contribute to drought relief efforts. If customers place orders on-site for Lotus Cars, they can enjoy group-buying public welfare prices, and additionally, 5,000 yuan deposits can be fully donated on-site to the Youth Foundation for targeted drought relief in Qujing disaster areas. It is reported that the group-buying public welfare price for the Lotus L3 has dropped below 70,000 yuan, while the Lotus L5 offers a discount of 10,000 yuan off its market price of 99,800 yuan. We hope that urgently-needed car buyers and philanthropists can pay attention and support. Alternatively, text messages can be sent to 13888099955 to participate in the charity auction, specifying the bidding amount.

Interpretation of the Love Vehicle

Lotus Cars is a project introduced by Youngman Automobile Group featuring British Lotus brand and technology. This enterprise adopts a unique production and management philosophy different from most automobile manufacturers—"autonomous enterprise, joint venture mode." Among them, the Lotus L3 series models were meticulously crafted over three years by British Lotus. Their design standards, process standards, and quality control systems all follow British Lotus standards, integrating the three top technologies of British Lotus—"chassis technology, appearance technology, safety technology"—and incorporating the technical characteristics of British Lotus sports cars.
