In December 2008, Wang Haixiang from Xiaoxugang Village, Longyuan Town, Wuzhi County discovered that his ex-wife was having an improper relationship with his nephew Wang Hongxing, so he harbored hatred and waited for an opportunity to take revenge. At around 2 a.m. on August 13, 2009, Wang Haixiang brought along a long knife, two short knives, and a pair of rubber gloves, sneaked into his nephew Wang Hongxing's house, climbed over the courtyard wall, and hid in the toilet within the yard waiting for an opportunity to commit the crime. Around 6 a.m. that day, a woman hired her cousin to travel a thousand miles to commit murder, burying alive her husband's lover. Wang Haixiang then sneaked into Wang Hongxing's attic. Hearing some noise, Wang Hongxing's wife Dong Hongxia went upstairs to check and was killed by Wang Haixiang. Afterwards, Wang Haixiang held the knife and went to the west bedroom of Wang Hongxing's living room and killed Wang Hongxing. Subsequently, Wang Haixiang again held the knife and went to the southern room of the living room and cruelly killed Wang Hongxing's four-year-old daughter. After deliberation, the Intermediate People's Court of Jiaozuo City (Weibo) believed that Wang Haixiang's behavior constituted intentional homicide. He was sentenced to death and deprived of political rights for life. Later, Wang Haixiang appealed, and the Higher People's Court of Henan Province (Weibo) made the final ruling to uphold the original sentence.
