Sina Technology News, Beijing Time, early morning of March 2nd, according to foreign media reports on Thursday, the analysis report released by JPMorgan Chase Asia analysts recently showed that Apple is expected to release a new upgraded version of its iPad product next week, and will also launch a cheaper version of the iPad 2 in order to further compete with tablets running on Google's Android operating system.

JPMorgan analyst Gokul Hariharan pointed out in an analytical report on Thursday: "While everyone is looking forward to the new high-resolution iPad, Apple should also launch a more affordable iPad 2 to respond to the challenge of Android tablets. Many PC manufacturers, including Asus, have been vigorously promoting the influence of inexpensive Android tablets in the market. If Apple can implement a multi-pronged pricing strategy for the iPad, Android tablets may once again face severe pressure, losing their appeal to the masses. They might only be able to survive in the low-end market, like Kindle Fire."

Apple's stock price has risen by more than 30% since the beginning of this year. It is expected that the company will officially announce the new generation of iPads next Wednesday. This product is expected to feature 4G LTE, along with several enhanced design features. In contrast, Google's stock price has been declining this year, while Amazon’s increase is less than 3%.

Apple lowering the prices of older products is not without precedent, which will help Apple further capture the mid-to-low end markets. Last year, after Apple launched the iPhone 4S, it announced that the iPhone 4 would continue to be sold at $99, and the iPhone 3GS would be given away for free with a two-year contract. (Lin Jing)
