Officer Jin Shaokang of the Chengguan Police Station in Luchuan City was driving home after work when he discovered the accident. He immediately got out of his car to report the incident and walked into the middle of the busy road to direct traffic, preventing the old man from being hit again. During the process of directing traffic, Jin Shaokang was struck by a car traveling southward, causing multiple fractures in both legs and the right arm. After being unconscious for two days and nights, at around 18:00 on the 8th, Jin Shaokang finally escaped danger. His first words upon waking up were "How is the old man?"
Event Reconstruction: An old man encountered a car accident on the road, and the police officer was hit while directing traffic.
In the morning yesterday, in a hospital room in the provincial capital, Mrs. Zhang, Officer Jin Shaokang's wife, recounted the scene of the day of the incident to the reporters. On October 6, after finishing work, Jin Shaokang picked up his wife and drove home. At around 18:30, when Jin Shaokang drove to the Shiyann Road Shuanghe Bridge crossing, he noticed an old man lying in the middle of the road, and not far away, there was a half-lying dung basket. After running to the old man, Jin Shaokang found that the old man had already stopped breathing and did not respond no matter how he called him.
Worried about the old man being hit again, Jin Shaokang hurriedly ran north of the old man to direct traffic. When he turned back, the man who was previously crouching next to the old man had already driven the car to the side of the road. Jin Shaokang immediately ran over, showed his police ID, and asked him to call the police quickly.
Afterwards, Jin Shaokang returned to the middle of the road. At this point, a vehicle traveling southward sped past and instantly hit Jin Shaokang, throwing him more than ten meters away, landing seven or eight meters south of the old man.
At the moment this happened, Mrs. Zhang had just parked her car and was about to cross the road to help her husband.
After Jin Shaokang was hit, the passersby immediately gathered around and helped in all ways possible. Mrs. Zhang was so frightened that her legs went weak; seeing her husband covered in blood and a large pool of blood on the ground, she almost fainted.
Hospital Scene: The police officer regained consciousness after being comatose for two days and nights.
At around 10:00 yesterday, I saw Jin Shaokang lying straight on the hospital bed. At this time, he was lying flat on the hospital bed, with intravenous tubes on his hands and oxygen tubes on his nose. His parents and wife were helping him massage his hands and feet. After being comatose for two days and nights, he finally overcame death. "Because of serious injuries, there was no blood circulation in the lower limbs and right arm. The doctor said they must be pinched occasionally to promote blood circulation," said Jin Shaokang's parents.
I saw that Jin Shaokang's face was still swollen, with blood scabs all over his face and bandages wrapped around his head. The entire right arm was purplish blue, with the bruise yet to dissipate, and wet towels were wrapped under his armpit, "always sweating, fearing heat rash, needing to change every hour."
From the medical records, I learned that the accident caused Jin Shaokang to have "both legs fractured, right shoulder fractured, external head injury, multiple abrasions." Due to severe injuries, his body hurt extremely, and he groaned in pain on the hospital bed. The doctor indicated that painkillers were needed to alleviate the pain.

Mrs. Zhang said that since being hospitalized, Jin Shaokang's body has been very weak, and he can only consume liquid food. His voice was very low when answering the reporter's questions, and the reporter had to get closer to hear clearly.

Jin Shaokang: Where would I have time to think? At that time, there were so many cars, and the old man was motionless. All I thought about was protecting the old man and having vehicles detour to avoid the old man being run over.
According to Mrs. Zhang's introduction, Jin Shaokang woke up at around 18:00 on the 8th, and the first question he asked upon opening his eyes was, "How is the old man?" After regaining full consciousness, he gradually recalled the events of the 6th. When he learned that the old man had already "passed away," he was deeply saddened.
Pregnant wife hasn't slept for two days and two nights
Jin Shaokang is 28 years old, from Nanluoling Village, Dahu Town, Luchuan City, graduated from Hebei Public Security Police Vocational College in 2007. In 2008, he became a People's Police through the civil service examination. Since engaging in this sacred profession, he has been rated as "Luchuan City Excellent Worker" every year.
Mrs. Zhang evaluates her husband like this: going to save lives and directing traffic completely stems from instinct, "He loves the job of a policeman very much, for him, a policeman is not just a job, but also an ideal to pursue."
Jin Shaokang got married in December last year, and after marriage, he never had time to accompany his wife. Before the incident, he had already worked overtime for six days at his unit.
"Now, I finally have time to watch him carefully and let him rest well." When she said this, Mrs. Zhang's eyes were red and swollen. Although she was two months pregnant, she stayed by her husband's side without leaving a step. It is understood that during the two days and two nights her husband was unconscious, she didn't close her eyes.
