It is understood that at the time of the incident, the excavator was carrying out excavation work when the slope where it was located suddenly collapsed. This caused the excavator to roll down a slope about 4 meters high and overturn on the hillside, pinning the driver under the vehicle before he could react.
At around 7 p.m., when the firefighters arrived at the scene, the excavator was overturned on the slope, its body buried in mud. The excavator driver's neck was trapped in the deformed door of the excavator and had already perished. The entire body of the excavator was only supported by the surface of the cab, with loose rocks on the slope swaying precariously. As night fell, this made the rescue operation very difficult.
On December 3rd at around 6 p.m., in Guanba Village, Xiniuping, Lusuying Township, Xingren County, an excavator working on construction rolled down a 4-meter-high slope due to a landslide. The excavator driver died on the spot. Firefighters from the Xingren County Fire Station rushed to the scene and after an hour of effort managed to lift out the deceased driver, eliminating the danger.
While closely monitoring the stones on the mountain slope, the firefighters used a cutter to cut open the deformed door and used shovels and T-handled picks to hollow out the soil beneath the deceased driver. After more than an hour of effort, they finally managed to retrieve the body of the trapped driver.
