Nandu News - The names, portraits, and criminal information of fugitives wanted for murder were printed on various cards in the popular card game "Sanguosha", mobilizing a large number of netizens to provide clues to the police. Recently, the Bai Xia police of Nanjing invented China's first "Sanguosha" version of a wanted notice. Yesterday, I learned from the Bai Xia police that after this creative reward wanted notice was issued, within just three days, three fugitives surrendered to the Bai Xia Public Security Bureau under pressure. The fugitives who surrendered said that the "Sanguosha" wanted notice was the "last straw" that broke their psychological defenses.

Two days after its release, the first fugitive returned.

"Sanguosha" is currently a very popular type of board game. This game incorporates features similar to Western games and combines the background of the Three Kingdoms period in Chinese history, setting personal roles and identities, making it a card-based game with identity as the clue.

On December 8th, the Bai Xia police of Nanjing invented the "Sanguosha" version of a wanted notice: the names, portraits, and criminal information of fugitives wanted for murder were printed on various cards in "Sanguosha," mobilizing netizens to provide clues to the police and offering rewards for capturing the criminals. This "Sanguosha" version of the wanted notice is a domestic first.

The first batch of wanted notices contained six wanted criminals, with all names, portraits, and criminal information printed on the cards. All six cases had reward information. And on the "WANTED" wanted notice, the police did not forget to add a prompt: "It's cold outside, don't hide anymore; there are policies if you surrender voluntarily."

Just two days after the issuance of the wanted notice, at 11 o'clock in the morning on December 10th, Wang Ningqiang, who had been on the run for seven years, turned himself in to the Criminal Investigation Brigade of the Bai Xia Branch of the Nanjing Municipal Public Security Bureau. He wrote on his "confession letter," "I am Wang Ningqiang. On the night of July 8, 2004 (early evening), a criminal case occurred at Guanghua Gate, and I participated in it and have been on the run ever since. Now I come to turn myself in, hoping for lenient treatment."

According to the police, on July 8, 2004, an intentional injury case occurred at the entrance of a residential area on Yudao Street in Bai Xia District, resulting in one death and one injury. Suspect Wang Ningqiang conspired with others and used a knife to slash Liu Mou, causing his death due to trivial matters. Wang Ningqiang had been on the run for seven years.

According to the police officer who received Wang Ningqiang, at noon on December 10th, a person carrying a plastic bag filled with daily necessities such as soap, towels, and toothbrushes walked alone into the office building of the Criminal Investigation Brigade and ran into the police officers. Before the police could speak, he confessed his identity: "I am Wang Ningqiang, I come to surrender." Subsequently, he calmly entered the interrogation room to confess. Previously, he had contacted a friend in another place: "You go and call Manager Liu, Manager Jiang, and my wife to meet me at the Nanjing Long Distance East Station. I will surrender immediately." Then, his friend drove him directly to the front door of the Bai Xia Public Security Bureau.

The new-style wanted notice received many leads

In the interrogation room, Wang Ningqiang said, "After fleeing for so many years, I am definitely tired, without any other thoughts. I want to surrender as soon as possible to seek lenient treatment. Only by surrendering can I get lenient treatment. I also hope they (fugitives) come to surrender as soon as possible."

On the evening of December 10th, Wang Huachun also surrendered to the Bai Xia police. According to Wang Huachun's confession, after committing the crime, he fled, wandering through Fujian, Yunnan, Anhui, and other places, changing his name and working as a painter for others for many years, living in constant fear, avoiding the police and police cars whenever he saw them. Unable to bear the pressure, he surrendered, hoping for lenient treatment.

According to the police, on March 29, 2000, near Huangli New Village on Muchou Road in Jianye District, Nanjing City, victim Shi Mou was intentionally injured to death. Suspects Wang Huachun, Wang Shenjun, Wang Hutian, and Ma Qin were at large. Therefore, Wang Huachun had been on the run for 11 years. At noon on December 11th, another suspect involved in the same case - Wang Shenjun, who had been on the run for 11 years, also surrendered to the Bai Xia police.

The Bai Xia police stated that since the issuance of the "Sanguosha" version of the wanted notice, the results have been significant. The public has provided many clues, and the police are further screening and analyzing them. At the same time, they also warned other fugitives not to harbor any illusions, to surrender to the public security organs as soon as possible, and to seek lighter or mitigated punishment.

@Nanjing Public Security Bureau Bai Xia Branch: Good news! Through everyone's efforts and our investigating police officers' work, pressured by the internet, media, and society, three fugitives listed on the Sanguosha wanted notice have surrendered to us. On the morning of December 10th, Wang Ningqiang, who had been on the run for seven years, surrendered to the Bai Xia police; on the evening of December 10th, Wang Huachun, who had been on the run for eleven years, surrendered to the Bai Xia police; at noon on December 11th, Wang Shenjun, who had been on the run for eleven years, surrendered to the Bai Xia police.
