ECNS, December 21 -- According to the British Daily Telegraph on December 21, a court in the United States made the biggest compensation judgment for child abuse case. A man who molested an eight-year-old boy and set him on fire with gasoline in 1998 was sentenced to compensate the victim over 150 billion US dollars (about 949.4 billion yuan).

The report said that in 1998, Don Wilburn Collins from the United States molested Robbie Williams after pouring gasoline on him and setting him on fire. Although Williams was burned by 99% of his body, he still lived more than ten years and died at the beginning of 2011 because of cancer. The doctor said that Williams' cancer had a direct relationship with the terrible damage when he was a child.

It was reported that Robin fought against his injuries all his life. Before he died, he testified in the hospital. He said that Collins was the person who attacked him. He said: "I accuse him because I worry that he will attack other children. This is my entire motive for allowing testimony."

Collins is currently serving a prison sentence due to other sexual assault charges. Colleen and Bobby Middleton, parents of Robin, submitted a civil complaint to the Texas court. On December 20, the judge ruled that Collins should compensate Mr. and Mrs. Middleton 150.37 billion US dollars (about 951.7 billion yuan). This amount broke the previous record of 145 billion US dollars (about 917.7 billion yuan) compensation obtained by Florida and its lawsuit against the tobacco industry.
