Master Xu told the reporter that he was working the day shift yesterday, as there were many vehicles entering and exiting the building in the morning, so he had been standing at the entrance of the guardhouse. Around 9:40 AM, Master Xu saw a woman wearing a hat riding an electric scooter from east to west on the non-motorized vehicle lane passing by the main entrance of the building. After she passed, a black cloth bag appeared on the ground. He quickly shouted, "Your bag has fallen!" However, the woman riding the scooter didn't hear him. When Master Xu stepped out of the guardhouse, a bicycle ran over the black cloth bag, revealing several bundles of hundred-yuan notes. Master Xu quickly ran over, and at this point, more people began to gather around. Master Xu noticed that among the onlookers, one man seemed to want to pick up the money and the black cloth bag that had fallen out. He loudly shouted, "These funds should be handed over to me for handling." Master Xu laughed and said that perhaps it was because he was wearing a security uniform which made him more trustworthy. He found that inside the cloth bag were nine bundles of hundred-yuan notes totaling 90,000 yuan, along with two deposit slips from the Bank of Communications.
At around 2:30 PM, Officer Sun from the Hongwu Road Police Station came to the China Inspection Building saying that the owner, Ms. Huang, had been found and hoped that Master Xu could take the money to the police station to return it to the owner. Ms. Huang stated that she had set off from Wali Mall on Baixia Road, intending to make a deposit at the nearby Bank of Communications, but the public funds she intended to deposit had been lost on the way. Upon seeing the owner, Ms. Huang, Master Xu immediately confirmed, "It's her; I saw a woman wearing a hat ride past, and then the black cloth bag was on the ground. Now we can confirm that it was her money." After confirming the owner, Ms. Huang, Master Xu handed the black cloth bag over to her.
