It is reported that in the 12 fraud cases investigated by the procuratorial organs, Li Daquan participated twice. The private prosecution agency accused that in the 12 fraud cases made by Li Dasou and others, they defrauded more than 490,000 yuan from others.

The Qiongshan District Court of Haikou City ruled that defendants Li Dasou, Lü Ruzhen, Li Daquan and others, under the guise of "divine doctor curing illness", worked together to illegally possess other people's property in large amounts, and their actions have constituted fraud. After the incident, defendant Li Daquan actively compensated for the losses, reducing the economic loss of the victims, and could be punished leniently at the court's discretion. On December 12th, the court sentenced in the first trial that defendants Li Dasou and Lü Ruzhen were guilty of fraud, sentenced to nine years in prison respectively, and fined 50,000 yuan each; Li Daquan was guilty of fraud, sentenced to three years in prison, and fined 5,000 yuan.

The reporter learned that despite the scammers' tricks not being sophisticated, many elderly people still fell victim repeatedly. Among the 12 victims, the vast majority were older women who had experienced family upheavals or were plagued by illness. Under the temptation of "divine doctor curing illness" by Li Dasou and others, the victims' last line of defense was breached. The scamming techniques used by the scammers were not sophisticated. Generally, female scammers would approach the victims by asking for directions or helping the elderly, gaining their trust and obtaining the victims' family information or the health status of the elderly. Then they would claim that there was a "divine doctor" who could cure illnesses and eliminate calamities. Subsequently, accomplices would cooperate to create false impressions and deceive the victims. When the "divine doctor" was "curing the victims," various excuses were given to make the victims take out their savings and valuable items for "safekeeping," secretly replacing them. By the time the victims realized it, the scammers had already fled.

At 8:00 am on September 26, 2010, Li Dasou, Lü Ruzhen, Li Daquan, and six others, on a street 50 meters north of Jiaji Bridge in Qionghai, also under the guise of "divine doctor curing illness," defrauded Li Mou of 78,900 yuan in cash, as well as gold rings and mobile phones. This time, it was also the most money Li Dasou and others had ever defrauded.

At 8:00 am on July 12, 2010, Li Dasou and Lü Ruzhen, along with six others, near Jiayuan Road in Longhua District, Haikou City, also under the guise of "divine doctor curing illness," defrauded Wang Mou of 15,800 yuan in cash, two ruby rings, three gold necklaces, one gold bracelet, one gold Mao Zedong badge, one gold-set blue sapphire ring, and a total of 14 precious items.

The scamming techniques were not sophisticated, yet elderly people fell victim repeatedly.

Justice Online, Hainan, December 14 - If someone says "divine doctor can cure all diseases," would you believe it? Someone did. In real life, stories of "divine doctors" deceiving people are endless. However, subjectively speaking, it's also the fault of those who fall for it. A mother and her two sons from Luchuan, Guangxi, pretended to be divine doctors in Haikou and Qionghai, and succeeded 12 times, defrauding nearly 500,000 yuan. On December 12, the Qiongshan District Court of Haikou City made a first-instance judgment, sentencing defendants Lü Ruzhen and Li Dasou to nine years in prison, and Li Daquan to three years in prison, with fines of 50,000 yuan and 5,000 yuan respectively. So, how did the scammers succeed so often?

According to the investigation, at around 10:00 am on June 9, 2010, Li Dasou and Lü Ruzhen, along with six others (dealt with separately), drove two cars and stopped in front of a guidance center on Yuangeng Third Street in Jiaji Town, Qionghai City. Under the guise of "divine doctor treating illness" and with the cooperation of an accomplice, they gained the trust of the victim Xian Mou. Under the persuasion of the "divine doctor" Li Dasou and others, the victim Xian Mou fell into the trap set by Li Dasou and others like being possessed by evil spirits. Not only did she hand over 49,400 yuan RMB and 10,000 yen (equivalent to 750.25 yuan RMB) to the scammers, but also handed over 11 pieces of gold jewelry, including gold rings, gold necklaces, gold earrings, and gold medals. After getting what they wanted, the scammers immediately fled.

Lü Ruzhen, Li Dasou, and Li Daquan, a father and his two sons, all came from rural areas of Luichuan County, Guangdong Province, with low levels of education, all about 40 years old. They fabricated lies, using the guise of "divine doctor curing illness" to work with others to commit fraud, succeeding many times. In the 12 frauds between June and October this year, the largest amount of cash defrauded was nearly 80,000 yuan. Their fraudulent methods were so "crude" that it made people cry and laugh at the same time.

According to the indictment by the procuratorial organs, defendants Lü Ruzhen, Li Dasou, and Li Daquan, working together with illegal possession as their goal, used fictitious means to repeatedly defraud others of large sums of money, constituting the crime of fraud.
