According to the press release, after mediation work, both parties, Wang Mou and Zuo Moumei, agreed to properly resolve their disputes. However, on January 17 this year, Zuo Moumei posted online which led to the re-escalation of the conflict between the two parties. On January 9 this year, Zuo Moumei filed for divorce at the First Court of the city.
In response to various doubts raised by Amei, Wang Mou denied each accusation one by one. He claimed that he never raped his wife at the Boai Hospital as she alleged, and mentioned that there were many fellow patients just a few meters away from the restroom. If he had indeed raped her, she could have screamed for help, and the fellow patients would have come to her aid. Instead, due to a miscarriage, she was sitting in a wheelchair, physically inconvenienced, and voluntarily asked him to carry her down from the bed to the restroom. Wang also denied the claim made by his wife about raping her on the side of the road in the West District, stating that such an incident never occurred.
The trial became heated and was temporarily adjourned for five minutes.
Wang responded to each charge levied against him by denying them all.
Amei told reporters that the 200,000 yuan compensation she sought for mental anguish was proposed under the advice of her lawyer, not out of greed. "Regardless of how much he eventually gives me, I won't take a single penny; I will donate it all to local charitable organizations. But he must apologize to my parents in court, there is no room for negotiation."
Regarding the family dispute case involving Wang and his wife, at 9 p.m. last night, the Intermediate People's Court of Zhongshan City issued a press release stating that since receiving the first complaint in mid-December last year, relevant departments including the union of the court have met with Wang Mou, Zuo Moumei, and their families more than ten times for mediation, striving to properly resolve the conflict.
For the family dispute case involving Wang Mou and his wife, the press release stated that yesterday, the First Court conducted a closed-door hearing on the divorce case. The final verdict will be publicly announced soon. Meanwhile, the court decided: first, starting from February 14, Wang Mou will be suspended for self-examination; second, a special investigation team will be established to thoroughly investigate the allegations of unauthorized seal usage, and handle the situation according to relevant regulations. The investigation results and handling decisions will be disclosed to the media. The court emphasized its commitment to team building and welcomed social supervision.
During the trial, Amei's father was summoned as a witness. He told reporters that on December 16, physical altercations occurred during which Wang allegedly knocked out two of his teeth. In court, "Wang said to the judge that I initiated the attack and he was only defending himself, and he never hit me." Speaking about the trial, Amei's father choked up several times, placing his hands together on his knees while his legs trembled uncontrollably.
Wang Mou expressed that shortly after marriage, they often quarreled over trivial matters. "Her temper is very explosive, often causing chaos at home. Televisions, refrigerators, washing machines were all smashed by her. During phone calls with my parents, she would always scold them harshly."

Court announcement
After the trial, Amei accepted interviews from media reporters.
New Express reporter Li Hongyun coordinated coverage.
During the trial process, the views presented by both parties regarding domestic violence and sexual abuse were completely opposed, pointing fingers at each other. "Initially, Wang Mou was emotionally agitated, raising his voice. Later, when my daughter heard him accuse her father of initiating the fight on December 16, she immediately started shaking all over, unable to speak, showing abnormal physical reactions. The court temporarily adjourned for five minutes," Amei's father recounted.
Xinhua News Agency reported that a public official from Zhongshan City's Intermediate People's Court was exposed for repeatedly sexually abusing his pregnant wife and engaging in domestic violence, drawing widespread attention. Yesterday, the First People's Court of Zhongshan City conducted a non-public hearing on the divorce case between Wang Mou and Zuo Moumei (Weibo), lasting from 3 p.m. until 9:10 p.m., where the woman requested divorce and 200,000 yuan compensation for mental distress. The man agreed to the divorce but refused the compensation. During the trial, the views presented by both parties on issues of domestic violence and sexual abuse were entirely opposing.
After more than six hours of trial, around 9 p.m., both parties and their families exited the First People's Court of Zhongshan City. Facing the media, Amei cried out that during the trial, she put forward three demands including divorce, an apology through the media to her parents, and 200,000 yuan compensation for mental distress. However, no agreement was reached. Wang Mou agreed to the divorce but refused to pay the 200,000 yuan. "Wang proposed a settlement without any compensation for damages, later offering a maximum of 5,000 yuan."
Regarding his wife's claim for 200,000 yuan compensation for mental distress, Wang Mou said that they had only been married for two months, and he really did not know how she came up with the figure of 200,000 yuan. Even when the court adjusted the amount to 100,000 yuan, he still insisted on waiting for the court's decision. As for the promised 5,000 yuan, he claimed it was a concern and compensation for women as a husband and a man, not what she claimed as compensation for mental distress.
