According to informed sources, Qi Qingmei, deputy director of the Environmental Protection Bureau of Laifu's Gancheng District (female), was stabbed six times, resulting in severe liver and lung injuries. It is reported that this attack might be related to some "small-scale" polluting enterprises.
The informant revealed that as the deputy director of the Gancheng District Environmental Protection Bureau and concurrently captain of the environmental inspection team, Qi Qingmei has been very strict in shutting down small iron smelting factories. However, due to low costs, these "small-scale" enterprises can quickly resume operations after being shut down, with some being fined or dismantled up to seven or eight times.
