Secret One: Pretending to be the new girlfriend of the party and calling the female party
"Since the feelings have already faded, why not let each other fly; since we no longer love each other, let's let go in time..."
Three months ago, Hu Jing, who lives in Building 8 of the Huayu Mingdu residential area in Shiqiaopu, opened a small store on Taobao that provides breakup services.
"The idea for this Taobao store actually came from a movie."
She said she watched a French film called "The Break-Up Artist," where the male protagonist worked as a professional breakup helper. Later, she also watched a South Korean film called "Sad Movie," starring Cha Tae-hyun, where the male protagonist also worked in this profession, helping others break up and even getting beaten up for others.
Each order costs 50 yuan
Refusing to handle breakups with a third party
Hu Jing said that her main principle when helping others break up is to avoid conflict and not hurt the other party's feelings. For this reason, before accepting every case, she would have long conversations with the parties involved through QQ, MSN, or phone calls, never taking sides, guiding and comforting them so they don't get too upset. For some relationships that could still be salvaged, she would also advise both parties to delay their breakup.
"I can't possibly make money by any means necessary, inciting others to break up quickly." She said there was another professional ethic that must be followed - keeping client confidentiality, protecting client privacy, never revealing the content of conversations, or exposing the identities of the parties involved.
She explained that helping others break up doesn't mean accepting all cases; there are certain situations that won't be handled: those that violate social ethics and morality, such as if one party has a disease or has been in a car accident; those with poor psychological resilience, such as having a history of suicide attempts; those with economic disputes or property division conflicts; breakups with a third party, or breakups between same-sex partners.
Hu Jing said that she generally charges 50 yuan per case for helping people break up. If face-to-face deep discussions are required, including tasks like returning photos and love tokens, further negotiation is needed. "The cost of drinking coffee together, taxi fares, etc., will vary depending on the situation, usually around several hundred yuan."
Pretending to be the new girlfriend of the party
Calling to break up
Hu Jing said that among the breakup cases she handled, out of 15, 14 were initiated by men wanting to break up with women, and only one case was initiated by a woman wanting to break up with a man.
She analyzed that men tend to have stronger endurance, and women generally wouldn't find it hard to start the conversation, so men prefer seeking help from professionals. In terms of reasons for breaking up, most involve men finding new lovers, while others include incompatible personalities, parental disapproval, etc.
Hu Jing also revealed a few methods for helping others break up.
1. Parrot learning: Let the parties chat with their lovers on QQ, sending the chat records for her to see, then Hu Jing chats with their lover on QQ to discuss breaking up.
2. QQ heart-to-heart talks: With the consent of the parties involved, she logs into their QQ account to chat with their lover and propose breaking up. Another method is using the identity of the parties' friends to suggest breaking up.
3. Face-to-face deep discussions.
She said that if the first three methods fail to achieve the breakup goal, then the "beating the lovebirds apart" method can be used, which involves pretending to be the new girlfriend of the party and calling to persuade both sides to break up, sometimes even enduring verbal abuse from the other side.
She said that if the breakup goal cannot be achieved in the short term, then a long-term plan needs to be formulated, such as gradually becoming distant or deliberately doing things the other person dislikes, prompting them to initiate the breakup.
Preparing to sell "remaining time service" online
"I am 33 years old, I studied education in university, learned psychology, and have relatively rich life experiences." Hu Jing disclosed.
She said that most people contact her mainly out of curiosity, just wanting to see how she conducts her breakup business and how she helps others break up without causing conflict. Every day, more than ten people chat with her, just to inquire about breakup techniques and how to break up peacefully and friendly. However, those who actually place orders and request her services are very few.
Regarding this, Hu Jing frankly admitted that it was within expectations. She said that helping others break up belongs to a niche business, having fewer customers is normal, and moreover, "it's hard for officials to mediate family affairs," as feelings are inherently a matter between two people, and letting a third party speak on behalf often makes it difficult for most people to accept.
However, she has now found a new profit point in the business, which is to use the breakup agency store to open a currently popular online "selling remaining time service," i.e., helping people run errands, such as making appointments, buying train tickets, plane tickets, movie tickets, shopping on behalf, delivering gifts, etc. At the same time, she also plans to open a women's shoe store.
Breakup agency becomes a hot item on Taobao
Charges range from one yuan to tens of thousands of yuan
On the Taobao website, breakup agency stores have become quite popular. Currently, these stores are spread across cities like Shanghai, Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, and others, reaching fifty to sixty in number, with charges ranging from 1 yuan to 10,000 yuan.
According to the descriptions of these stores, the practitioners are experienced and eloquent, having studied psychology. Some charge based on the number of commissions, others charge based on time, and overly complex cases require long-term planning, with fees potentially reaching several thousand to tens of thousands of yuan. Generally, part of the fee is collected beforehand, and the full amount is charged upon completion of the task.
Some agencies state that if the breakup involves a married couple, the case is generally refused due to complications involving asset division and child custody.
