The police of Pune City said that the driver at fault is Santosh Mane, 30 years old, who was employed by the Maharashtra Road Traffic Company. The company said that Mane was still on duty normally the night before and they didn't understand why Mane would do such a thing. Police chief Miran Bowenka ruled out the possibility of a terrorist attack, saying: "We don't know why the driver did this. But one thing is for sure, he was crazy at that time. We are currently looking for deeper reasons."

Pune City is located on the west coast of India, less than 120 kilometers from Mumbai City. At around 8:15 am on January 25th, there were already many pedestrians and vehicles on the central city roads. Suddenly, a bus appeared, driving crazily in the opposite lane.

The police had no choice but to drive after it, constantly signaling relevant units to place barriers at key sections. After an hour of chasing, the bus finally stopped in front of a pile of obstacles, and two pedestrians quickly rushed onto the bus, subduing the driver who was only lightly injured, and handed him over to the police who arrived shortly afterwards. A college student named Kuti said: "At that time, the police were riding motorcycles chasing the bus and even fired shots at it, but seemed to have missed."

According to the police records, the bus drove against the traffic for about 25 kilometers, knocking down many roadside stalls, overturning at least 40 passing vehicles, killing 9 people, and injuring 27 people.

The driver Mane drove this bus madly through the city for an hour.

According to 'The Times of India', this bus completely ignored the pedestrians and vehicles on the road, roaring over any "obstacle" that appeared ahead. Initially, people thought it was an accident, but soon realized that the bus driver was doing it deliberately, and fled for their lives. After receiving the alarm, the police tried to stop this crazy bus, but the driver seemed not to care, and even when the police fired warning shots, the bus showed no sign of stopping.

A reporter from the local media reported live from the scene of the incident, saying that Mane seemed dissatisfied with the company. (Comprehensive report of our newspaper)
