A new feature in Windows Server Backup can perform recovery related to specific applications. Application-specific recovery can restore the application, settings, and associated application data. By using Windows Server Backup, you can only restore applications that have been registered within this program, and the registration process occurs automatically when the application is installed.

When performing an application recovery, you will see a list of applications already registered with Windows Server Backup. For such applications, you can recover them through backups. If the relevant data stored in the backup catalog reveals that the status of the application in the backup file used for recovery is the latest, you can also roll forward (ROLL-FORWARD) the application's database. The default setting allows roll-forward, so you only need to select the "Do not perform roll-forward recovery for the application database" option if you want to prevent roll-forward. If the change you are trying to undo (for example, deleting an important table in SQL Server) occurred after the backup was performed, as in server data recovery in Hefei, then you can use this option.
