A new feature in Windows Server Backup can perform recovery related to specific applications. Application-specific recovery can restore applications, settings, and associated application data. Using WINDOWS SERVER BACKUP, you can only recover applications that have been registered in the program, and this registration is automatically performed when the application is installed.
When performing an application recovery, you will see a list of applications already registered in WINDOWS SERVER BACKUP. For these types of applications, recovery can be done via backups. If it is found through relevant data stored in the backup catalog that the status of the application in the backup file used for recovery is the latest, then it is also possible to roll forward (ROLL-FORWARD) the application's database. The default setting will allow roll-forward, so the option "Do not perform roll-forward recovery of the application database" only needs to be selected if you want to prevent roll-forward. If the changes you are trying to undo (such as deleting an important table in SQL Server) occurred after the backup was made, you can use this option.
